The Explorers: Where Social Skills Meet Adventure
.
A unique gamified, play-based, and assent-forward social skills groups for ages 3–10. We help kids build self-advocacy, cognitive flexibility, and authentic friendships on their own terms.
I
Hi, I’m Shelby.
I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and school guidance counselor with over a decade of experience helping neurodivergent children feel seen, supported, and successful. Throughout my career, spanning early intervention to special education, I saw a gap in how social skills were taught. I believe rigid, compliance-based programs are not the ethical answer to building real-world independence. That’s why I've created Well Taught. Rooted in trauma-informed and assent-based care, our groups translate complex behavioral science into joyful, play-based mastery. Your child gets to practice collaboration and self-advocacy in a safe environment that celebrates exactly who they are.

Play-Based. Assent-Forward. Completely Fun.
Behavior is the language of connection, and social-communication shouldn't feel like a chore. We use the immersive power of story telling, games and play to create a structured space where kids can master social cues and solve complex problems together.
Self-Advocacy: Empowering kids to express their needs and set healthy boundaries.
Cognitive Flexibility: Learning to adapt, share ideas, and problem-solve in dynamic scenarios.
Joyful Connection: Fostering lasting relationships without the pressure of masking.
